For an afternoon tea yesterday

I always go for food, sweets and good drink

So we treated ourselves

For an afternoon of sweets, wine and chai tea

And One More Thrift Find

I saw this old wooden floor lamp last month at a thrift store

But didn't buy it back then

And when I went back

It was still sitting there screaming for me :)

So I took it home...
For $7
It looked like this when I purchased
So I gave a fresh coat of paint to match my cabinet

Anyway,

Few More Thrift Items Added

A few months ago I found this bench at a thrift store

It was so blended in with everything else around it

No one bothered to look at the price tag

It used to look like this

Surrounded by many old pillows

And priced at $20

When I took it home and took faded pink fabric off

There was this really bright mustard color fabric underneath

I suspect it was once a Spanish Hacienda style bench

I painted the wood with antique white paint

And covered the seat with bargain fabric ($5.99/yard)

And while I was at it

I painted another old chair in same paint
And covered the seat with left over fabric to match the bench
So that they can both be in our breakfast area

It has been wonderfully warm and sunny here in LA

We are finishing up the last presents for our kids

We had all those left over wrapping paper

So we are making something really quick for girls

Our girls don't get enough time with us individually

So we made some tickets for girls to use

And put them in glass jars

So we can have fun all year long doing fun stuff

It is 1:30am now

So we are finally going to sleep...

Christmas Tote Bags

I finished making matching tote bags for my girls last night

And I am going out to buy chocolates, cookies and other sweets to stuff in them for Friday

I did stuff their stockings with sweets last year

And I didn't know I needed SO MUCH sweets to fill them

....I think I made them high from so much suger

....Because they were SO HAPPY

....And kind of crazy

So

I made matching tote bags with left over fabrics this year

Just for little bit of sweets

So far

Me and girls are being good

And avoiding sweets and hot cocoa this holidays
So we can be really bad on Christmas day :)

With a karate chop

Instead of using those things inside wrapping papers as swords to beat each other
Which they have done in the past

I will put names on each of those tonight
So I don't need to see any more karate chops coming out of my girls
....Who ever said girls are easy?
